Pierre André Valayer & Francis Blum, owners of Fun Parc Aventures in Richerenches (84) that kindly lent us the machines
And with the help of the Valreas (84) local police and its speed camera
Two blindmen have challenged eachother to see who would be the fastest on a quad in a straight line
Patrick Ricou, blind skilled sportsman that distinguished himself through his achivements in mountain climbing and sky diving
Patrick et Pierre André headed off on their quad.
After several tryouts, they had managed to straighten their trajectory.
They passed the police’s speed camera faster and faster to finally mark 92km/h.
As for myself, Francis Blum was guiding me with his hands around my waist.
From his position behind me he could pivot my body in the direction he wanted to and I could adjust my steering. This gave us precision and efficiency. After a few adjustements and with complete trust in my partner we headed for the challenge.
We passed the speed camera a couple of times gaining more confidence each time, and with concentration at its peak, we established the speed of 93km/h.
This was a premiere for the blind
