“Such as a cloud, it floats between Earth and Moon. It is a dream. For a long time, its name has been sounding to my ears. By hearing and saying it, I immersed myself in it. By seeing it, I became attached to it. The Mount Blanc outlines my horizon over there, beyond reasonable. As high as the eye can see, its summit stands out in my sight and attracts each one of my hobbling steps like a magnet.
The dream is inside of me.
Of course it is a challenge to climb up there without legs, but it is something that I long for, like a child making a whim. I see it and I want of it! I would not need much to stamp my feet! I lost my feet and the right knee in a train accident. Everyone said to me that it would be impossible to go and climb high mountains again without functioning limbs. Perhaps but little by little, after years of trekking with a prosthesis and on crutches, the idea of the Mount Blanc is getting more and more realistic to me.... Even if I am the only one to believe in it, I will put all possible chances on my side.
Training, adaptability, equipment, staff, etc I did not forget anything to make my dream come true...
The Mount Blanc was achieved on July 15th, 2003”
