Belgium, Formula 1 circuit, snow and ice was at the program …
This Wednesday 28 of February, at the invitation of the direction of the Spa-Francorchamps, 12 blind persons were present to take the wheel.
Like every year since 2011, the blind people of the « non-voyants et leurs drôles de machines » (blind and their funny machines) were gathering for an unusual day, in taking the steering wheel of learning cars in order to drive on the roller coaster of the Ardennes.
This Wednesday the challenge was huge. Very polar temperatures of minus 18 c during the night and minus 9 C during the day and the ice to pepper the full cocktail!
Timidly, in the morning, the blinds have taken the track at nearly 40 Km/h under encouragement of their monitors. During the day, the modest cars with double command and despite a fragile grip attained the speed of 100 Km/h !
Incredible sensation, explaining those one-day pilots to the journalists, coming to follow this incredible experience. Moreover, the Megane RAS of 265 CV was equipped with snow tires.
Hoping that the sun would be part of the next edition, in the mean time we will soon give you a meeting notice for a new adventure.
