Road of the rum for a man born without a left hand.

Damien Seguin crossed the finish line of the 11th edition of the Route du Rhum today at 8 hours 55 minutes 02 seconds after 14 days, 18 hours, 55 minutes, 2 seconds of running.

The skipper of the 60' group covered 4 291 miles at an average speed of 12,09 nodes is an extraordinary performance for this skipper born without a left hand and triple Paralympic medal.

A “Croizon Academy” is created in Vichy

The French Centre for Young Disabled Swimmers, the first of its kind, had been established at the CREPS, the Regional Sports Centre, in Vichy since 2011. But in September 2018, for strategic reasons, the French Handisport Federation decided to relocate the structure to Bordeaux... "Without providing sufficient guarantees that the same level of overall service quality that had been offered in Vichy would be maintained", added the quadruple amputee, Philippe Croizon, regretfully.

Egypt, last Tue, May 8th, the Russian Dmitrii Pavlenko, amputated of his four members has succeeded his world record during a deep dive to 40 m in total autonomy.

Mount Everest : measures prohibiting disabled people from climbing the mountain have been lifted after being judged discriminatory (Montagnes-magazine, @cecitroc-infos)

Last December, the state of Nepal introduced measures prohibiting blind people and double amputees from mountain climbing. The measure, judged discriminatory, was finally repealed in March thanks to actions led by campaigners for disabled people’s rights.
