The handicapped of the World are getting back together for the Paralympics as from 29.08. These sporty 2 weeks will be ending on 09.09 and will see 4000 participants to harvest 500 medals.
After their Channel crossing in September 2010, our two extreme swimmers have decided to get together and to link up the five continents swimming, over four months.
From May 6th – May 19th 2012, they will swim from Oceania to Asia by going from Papua New Guinea to Indonesia.
From June 7th – June 15th, the Asia-Africa link will be from Jordan to Egypt.
From July 9th – 18th, Africa-Europe via the Gibraltar Straits.
And from August 3rd – 19th, 2012, the pair will finish up their world tour by swimming in the freezing waters of the Arctic Ocean (the Bering Strait), from America to Asia.
By the end of their expedition, they will have swum a total distance of no less than 85 kilometers, more than 45 hours of effort, sometimes having to battle against strong currents which hinder their progress, in waters ranging from very warm (up to 27°C in the Red Sea) to freezing (between 0° and 3° in the Arctic Ocean).
We wish them all the best of luck, and will be following their progress throughout.

We were very sad to learn of the death of our friend, Doctor Jean Florent, the patron of the Experts on our site ehandicapworldrecords.org. He had been a member of our team from the very beginning. He was a surgeon, with an immense culture ; he broughtus his medical skills and was present at all our challenges.
Always on hand to help, he was one of our greatest well-wishers.
We are sorry to lose such a great friend, and our thoughts are with his nearest and dearest.
Philippe Croizon set off from Folkestone, in Kent, at around 6am yesterday, expecting to reach France within 24 hours, but managed to complete the feat in only 13 and a half.
The 42-year-old's arms and legs had to be amputated after he suffered an electric shock while removing a television aerial from a roof 16 years ago.
He taught himself to swim in the last two years, and does so using prosthetic legs and a snorkel and mask.
Earlier, Croizon's spokeswoman said he was swimming faster than expected after completing his first 12 miles in just eight hours.
After completing the 21-mile challenge last night, Croizon told the BBC he had never felt that he was not going to make it, despite aches and pains all over his body.
Croizon's father said his son had been helped by favourable wind conditions and had even had three dolphins swimming alongside at one point, which he said was a "sign of good luck".

The association para side racing team opened its doors in 2008 in order to understand the government and the French Motorcycle Federation (FFM) that a driver with a physical disability may satisfy his passion for motor sports at the same like any other able-bodied person.
Our association is open to any driver disabled (paraplegic, amputation etc ...), who validated his motorcycle license, and willing to engage in competition, whatever the field (motorcycle solo track, rally, sidecar speed of trial or cross)
physical disability should not be a handicap in the competition ! THE COMPETITION FOR ALL, that is our motto! And we hope many of you follow us in this new adventure.
If you are a disabled driver and motivated contact us for more information. Denis will continue our historic pilot to show his skills in the championship of France Rally, but we hope many of us.

“Hein Wagner is the new owner of the world speed record for a blind, after it reached 320 km/h at the wheel of a Mercedes SL 65 AMG Black Series. That’s not the first time when Wagner breaks a record, his first success in this area took place in 2005 aboard of a Maserati Grand Sport. At the time, Hein Wagner has reached 269 km/h at the wheel of a Maserati, becoming the first South African who has a ground speed record. This time, Hein Wagner has run over 320 km / h and is the owner of the land speed world record for a blind. Hein Wagner’s new record was achieved on a runway at the international airport in Upington, South Africa. During his record attempt, Hein Wagner has run over 320 km/h several times, covering more than 800 meters and this speed before starting to reduce speed. As with any such record attempts, Hein Wagner has been monitored closely to ensure avoiding a disaster. What’s touching is that Hein Wagner wants to use funds from the registration record to donate them Vision Trust Organization. This organization aims to make technology available for blind. As for feeling he has experienced when running a 320 km/h, Hein Wagner said that this is a real obstacle to any driver, whether seen or not”.
