Philippe Croizon won his bet: bringing symbolically together 5 continents by swimming.
Well done, Philippe !
After their Channel crossing in September 2010, our two extreme swimmers have decided to get together and to link up the five continents swimming, over four months.
From May 6th – May 19th 2012, they will swim from Oceania to Asia by going from Papua New Guinea to Indonesia.
From June 7th – June 15th, the Asia-Africa link will be from Jordan to Egypt.
From July 9th – 18th, Africa-Europe via the Gibraltar Straits.
And from August 3rd – 19th, 2012, the pair will finish up their world tour by swimming in the freezing waters of the Arctic Ocean (the Bering Strait), from America to Asia.
By the end of their expedition, they will have swum a total distance of no less than 85 kilometers, more than 45 hours of effort, sometimes having to battle against strong currents which hinder their progress, in waters ranging from very warm (up to 27°C in the Red Sea) to freezing (between 0° and 3° in the Arctic Ocean).
We wish them all the best of luck, and will be following their progress throughout.

After the sad loss of our friend, the Doctor Jean Florent, we are happy to announce that Alain Amar will succeed as the lead expert for our site ehandicapworldrecords.org.
Alain Amar, as previously Captain of the French Gendarmerie (police force), has first joined us as legal expert. As a field person, he was also present during several challenges organized by Féma in Belgium. Alain has confirmed to us that he would be happy to pursue the mission started by Jean in making sure that the new application files are submitted to the team of experts in a short time with all of the required information that is needed.. Thank you Alain for your commitment to help us.
We were very sad to learn of the death of our friend, Doctor Jean Florent, the patron of the Experts on our site ehandicapworldrecords.org. He had been a member of our team from the very beginning. He was a surgeon, with an immense culture ; he broughtus his medical skills and was present at all our challenges.
Always on hand to help, he was one of our greatest well-wishers.
We are sorry to lose such a great friend, and our thoughts are with his nearest and dearest.
Many thanks to you, dear Jean.

Last weekend, Thierry Corbalan, who has lost both arms, was swimming alongside a non-disabled person, for a very good cause.
You can see the film of his exploit by clicking on the link below.
In Cincinnati, Ohio, Delphine made her mark again during the last Handiswimming World Championships.
She earned four Gold medals, a reward for a year that has been full of events and emotions, especially at the French Championships : a gold medal for diving, for the combined programme, for the figure programme, and for the overall tournament.
France also won a neat Bronze medal, coming an overall third on average among the countries present.
See Delphine’s website for the complete story of her latest exploits !

Two long distance swimmers, Arnaud CHASSERY and Philippe CROIZON
One valid, the other one handicapped (four limbs amputated).
ARNAUD CHASSERY
Took part in the world amateur championship of long distance swimming in 2008 in Australia.
In 2008,managed to succeed in the emblematic event of long distance swimming across the Channel (the paragon event) in16h38.
In 2010, swam across the straits of Gibraltar in 4h04.
PHILIPPE CROIZON
After two years of intensive training, managed to swim across the Channel in13h23,a real achievement.
The first man in the world to achieve this feat, named the Everest of swimming, with such a heavy handicap.
WHY REALISE SUCH A HUMAN ADVENTURE ?
With our partner International Handicap, we want to show our determination and cooperation in the symbol of world solidarity defended by this NGO.
This symbol remains to be defined, but here is a concrete example: a petition across the five continents to stop the production and use of antipersonnel mines which kill and mutilate every 90 minutes.
Our aim will also be to bear a testimony of courage and surpassing of oneself, to show that solidarity still exists and then to reveal handicap in a new light.
For us swimmers, this human adventure will mean: swimming across Oceania, Asia, Africa ,
Europe and America from May to September 2013 to link them symbolically in order to build bridges between the five continents and thus demonstrate that men are not so distant from one another. If we can swim from one continent to another it is because men are closely linked together beyond social, cultural, political or religious specificities.
However, the aim of this initiative does not only deal in a sporting event, it also shows our determination to support the countries particularly vulnerable to handicap.
If you recognize yourself in our project ,our ideas and our values please join us.
Sportingly yours.
Arnaud and Philippe.
